Condoms: A Novel Way to Get Rid of Parenthood.

Here is a banned commercial. I found it on You Tube. Please see it once and tell me what's wrong with it to ban. I think the advertisers want to say that it is better to use condoms than having a child. I don't understand why it is banned. It was aired in Europe and immediately banned. The protesters were the people who think that children are God's gift. But what they don't understand that everyone has right of parenthood. If you are not capable of raising the child then it is better not to conceive. That's why use condoms. I was wondering if it was aired in India then what would be the reaction. Now a day, we are awaken of use of contraceptive pills and condoms for safe sex. But still we are very traditional about having a child. In most of the families first marriage anniversary comes with a child. We don't even discuss or think whether we can afford or not. After marriage our parents starts dreaming about their beautiful grand daugh...

Kaminey-Pure Film Noir

Film Noir literally means Black movie. The name was given by French critics for the black & white low-budget Hollywood movies released between 1940 & 50's. Though these movies were produced on extremely shoe-string budget (if we consider big budget films like Gone with the Wind) but their content were very high. A typical film noir was based upon crime story published in pulp magazines like The Black Mask. Writers like Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, and Dorothy Hughes were very popular among producers. What impressed the French critics to apart these movies from regular buffs is the use of camera. The low key black & white visual style has roots in German expressionist cinematography. Cinematographers like John Alton had key role in making beautiful noir movies. Hindi films like C.I.D & Aar Paar (both produced by Guru Dutt) clearly inspired from noir's. In recent time we have considerably number of movies which can be called as Film Noir. Ek Chal...

Unfortunate Deepali Despande.

On 8th of this month a girl hanged herself in her house. She was twenty two years old. She finished herself for the sake of college examination. Local newspapers printed it on front page. According to newspaper reports she hanged herself to get rid of the second year engineering examination. She was failed earlier in the first year also. Some questions came up in my mind: 1) Why do students hang themselves? 2) Is suicide the only way to run away from life? 3) Who is responsible for this? 4) Either parents or teachers or education system? For me the answer is our education system and parents. Our education system has became like a assembly line where students are churned out like cars. They are xerox copies or pamphlets. Education system became manufacturing units with students as products. The curriculum and syllabus is designed to solve lengthy question papers. Whoever gets top marks in examination is the most 'clever' student in the class. Other students are stup...
